MEET THE COACHES
Matthew Fawcett
Jr Mounties Hockey Director
Fawcett serves as head coach of the 13U Jr. Mounties team for the 2025-26 season and a scout for the Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League and the USHL Youngstown Phantoms. Fawcett’s playing career began locally with the Providence Capitals before playing prep hockey at The Winchendon School. He spent time in the British Columbia Hockey League and the United States Hockey League before playing NCAA Division I hockey at Quinnipiac University and the University of Maine. Fawcett earned an MBA from Salve Regina University, combining his hockey expertise with strategic leadership. Most recently, he coached junior hockey in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and ran skills camps with the Providence Capitals. Fawcett is co-founder of 401 Hockey Development, a comprehensive hockey development program catering to players of all ages and skill levels.

Lynn Loyns
Head Coach: 2015 and 2018/2019 Elite
Playing Career
Coach Loyns Played 13 years pro including the NHL playing for the San Jose Sharks and Calgary Flames. Including being a part of the Calgary Flames who lost in Game 7 of the Stanley cup finals to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004. After 5 years in the AHL and NHL he took his career to Europe playing in several elite leagues over the next 8 years.
Coaching
Coach Loyns has enjoyed coaching youth hockey for the past 9 years in the JR Railers organization helping the 2012 JR Railers and 2015 JR Railers teams become some of the most successful the Organization has had. Recently has been the head coach of the first U13 JR Mounties team.
Personal
Coach Loyns grew up in Saskatchewan Canada and has three boys that play competitive hockey now. He looks forward to continuing to coach and develop youth hockey players and help them try achieve their dreams.

Tao Ishizuka
Head Coach- 2013 & 2016 Tier 1
Tao Ishizuka grew up playing youth hockey for the 1999 Providence Capitals in the EHF. He then went to prep school at the Governors Academy, where he served as a captain. He went on to play at the collegiate level at Curry College, where he served as captain, made two NCAA tournament appearances, and earned the Athlete of the Year award. Outside of hockey Tao also graduated valedictorian with a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. Following college, Tao played professionally for one season with the Macon Mayhem in Macon, Georgia. With over 20 years of hockey experience and second year as head coach he is dedicated to using his knowledge to help players get to the next level, but also to foster their growth as well-rounded individuals both on and off the ice.

Matt Rickard
Head Coach- 2015 Tier 1
Started my hockey career for the Providence Capitals in the EHF. Attended Bishop Hendricken for 3 years. Finished high school for my senior year at The Winchendon School. Played two years of Junior Hockey (Powell River- BCHL || Lone Star Brahmas- NAHL). Continued on to Division 1 college hockey at American international College (undergrad) and the University of Alaska Fairbanks (grad).
Deferred from a professional hockey career to pursue career in the financial industry at Fidelity Investments.
Has coaching experience with skill development and various tournaments over the last year. Excited to get things started with the Jr. Mounties.
